Brown Sardina developed the Master Plan, site circulation strategies, and landscape design for a new 93-bed independent hospital and several medical office outparcels in the coastal community of Brunswick.
The site plan and building orientation was developed to emphasize views into the adjacent tidal marsh, maximize energy efficiencies, and preservation of existing woodlands. An outdoor meditation garden incorporates native birch trees, lush understory plantings and memorial millstone fountain. A network of woodland paths allow visitors and patients to experience the surrounding site’s unique character and topography. Following the project’s completion, a local artist, Dahlov Ipcar, designed an installation along the nature trails, Wild Animal Alphabet Story Walk. The installation was so successful it has since become permanent.
