Miss Hall’s School is an independent girl’s school for grades 9-12 located on 80 acres of the Berkshire Mountains. Brown + Sardina collaborated on the Master Plan and phase one expansion of existing academic facilities, a new modern science lab and a new residence hall.
Proposed buildings were strategically positioned between existing structures to emphasize the central space and pond with adequate area to accommodate a future residence hall and belvedere overlooking the pond. Despite the significant grade change a network of accessible walks were developed to encompass the central space and connect the existing and proposed academic buildings, including a 65 foot pedestrian bridge that spans a shallow ravine. Large existing canopy trees were saved and are supplemented by new ornamental flowering trees and under-story plantings to provide a multi-layered landscape in scale with the campus core.
